In the extract Fallout, many different representations of age were displayed by various camera angles, sounds and mise-en-scene which is the general use of costume, background and location. The scene shows four boys attacking another lone youth and that instantly portrays young males as being violent and aggressive as without knowing one another they stab him because he was "being rude". The camera angles used in the lead up to the attack showed the four boys from a long shot, giving the viewers an insight to what the boy being attacked was seeing and shows the whole of the boys from head-to-toe and the audience can then see how they act - the way they walk and force other people in the street to move out of the way of them - making them seem more aggressive. Mise-en-scene gives an insight to why this may have happened. Most of the people in the extract were wearing hoodies and we see alot of youths walking around the street in groups which is instantly likened to boys looking to cause trouble. At the beginning of the extract we see the boy attacked trying to better himself and keeping away from the streets by joining a basketball club and we see him enjoying himself and having a good time. This shows he is trying to make something of himself and the fact he was still in school uniform shows he attends regularly, and with the boys who attacked him in regular clothes it could mean they do not go to school, which could also lead to their illiteracy - the use of slang - whereas the boy seemed to have better english. However, once he came in contact with the four boys in the gang he tried to use slang aswell, maybe to try to fit in as a result of being intimidated by the group. Intimidation could also be seen by the way one of the members in the group peered over another one of his friends when he was told he was getting "told" and did not seem to like it so he reacted by going after the boy and responding by "lets go get him then" to try and display his authority and make him be in control.
